As you are all no doubt aware, the Tories were recently defeated in the House of Lords in their attempt to cut Tax Credits that would see 63% of families in Great Yarmouth lose up to £1,300 from their annual income. The Chancellor has decided that, whilst a rethink is necessary, he will still press ahead with Tax Credit cuts in a move fully supported by the Prime Minister, who promised not to cut Tax Credits ahead of the General Election earlier this year. We don't think it is right or fair that people on a low income should see their income squeezed even further by an out of touch Chancellor or by a broken promise Prime Minister.
Come along and help us spread the message and raise support against this attack on families across the country on this National Campaign day of action. Help us gather signatures on our petition calling on David Cameron & George Osborne to abandon this policy which would see money taken away from those who need it most.
This is also an opportunity for residents to meet their candidate for next year's Local Elections & for us to remind residents of the changes to Voter Registration under IER.
