Great Yarmouth’s Tory MP shows contempt for women Parliamentarians by defying the pairing arrangement

Over the past couple of days since Brandon Lewis MP broke parliamentary convention by defying the pairing agreement to save the Prime minister from an embarrassing defeat in the Commons more to the story has slowly leaked out.

In a Times article, the Chief Whip Julian Smith told Tory MPs to break pairing deals to try and win key government votes by duplicitous means. It is clear that this prime minister and their government is rotting from the inside.

Labour’s Mike Smith-Clare says:

” Not only does it raise concerns regarding the integrity of the chief whip, but on the personal integrity and credibility of the chairman of the Conservative Party.”

This blatant flouting of a parliamentary convention in service of saving Theresa May’s scalp only goes to show you can never trust a Tory! If either Smith or Lewis had any integrity they would have resigned already.
